What is Noun?
Name of a person, animal, thing or place are called noun.
کسی انسان ،جانور،چیز ،جگہ،سوچ اور احساس کو انگلش میں ناؤن اور اردو میں اسم کہتے ہیں۔

Kinds of Noun
There are five kinds of noun.
انگریزی میں ناؤن کی پانچ قسمیں ہیں۔
1 – Proper Noun
2 – Common Noun
3 – Collective Noun
4 – Material Noun
5 – Abstract Noun
1 – Proper Noun
Name of particular Person, Animal, Place or thing is know as Proper Noun.
کسی خاص شخص،جانور، جگہ، یا چیز کے نام کو انگریزی میں پراپر ناؤن اور اردو میں اسم معرفہ کہتے ہیں۔
ُپراپر ناؤن میں جب کسی شخص، جگہ یا چیز کا نام لکھا جاتا ہے تو اس کا پہلا لیٹر بڑے لیٹر میں لکھا جاتا ہے۔

2 – Common Noun
A common noun is a noun which is used for every person, animal, place or thing of the same class or kind.
کسی عام شخص،جانور، جگہ، یا چیز کے نام کو انگریزی میں کامن ناؤن اور اردو میں اسم نکرہ کہتے ہیں۔
Example of Common Noun
Man, boy, Lion, Airport, Railway Station, Pen, Teacher, Doctor etc..
Common Noun are of two kinds
Countable Common Nouns
Uncountable Common Nouns
Countable Common Nouns
These are used for persons, Things and places which can be counted.
وہ اسم جس میں اشخاص،چیزوں اور جگہوں کو گنا جا سکے۔
Example of Countable Noun
Pen, Books, Orange, boy
Uncountable Common Nouns
These are the names of things which cannot be counted.
ایسی چیزیں جن کو گنا نہ جا سکے۔
Example of Uncountable Noun
Salt, Coffee, tea, food, air, blood, music
3 – Collective Noun
Collective Noun is the name of a Group of similar Persons or things considered as one complete whole.
وہ نام جو کسی گروہ یا جماعت کےلئےاستعمال ہوں انکو کولیکٹو ناؤن کہتے ہیں۔
Example of Collective Noun
Army (Collection of Soldiers), Team (Collection of players), Crowed(Collection of people) , Police, Family, Committee, Nation.
4 – Material Noun
Material Noun is the name of material or matter or substance out of which things are made.
وہ نام جو مادی اشیاء یادھاتوں کےلئےاستعمال ہوں جن سے دوسری اشیاء بنائی جاتی ہوں اسکو انگریز ی میں مٹیریل ناؤن کہتے ہیں اور اردو میں جنس یا جامد کہتے ہیں۔
Example of Material Noun
Wheat, Gold, wood, Steel, Water, Silver
5 – Abstract Noun
Name of quality, action or state in know as Abstract Noun.
وہ الفاظ جو کسی چیز کی کیفیت، عمل یا خاصیت کو ظاہر کریں انہیں انگریزی میں ایبسٹریکٹ ناؤن اور اردو میں اسم کفیت کہتے ہیں۔
